The Embassy of India, Tokyo would like to inform you that The Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), an apex body set up by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India for the promotion of Handknotted Carpets and other floor coverings is organizing the 43rd edition of India Carpet Expo from 15th - 18th October, 2022 at Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart at Bhadori, Uttar Pradesh (India). 

 

2. India Carpet Expo is the flagship event being organized biannually by CEPC which started in the year 2000. More than 200 exhibitors has been participating at the event representing the carpet-producing areas like Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur, Panipat and Srinagar, etc. This is also the first time that the event is being held at Bhadori District known by the name “Carpet City” and has also been awarded the “Town of Excellence” from the Government of India. Bhadori District is also home to the largest hand-knotted carpet weaving industry hubs in South Asia and is visited by large number of buyers from domestic and overseas markets.

 

3. The Council is also offering a complimentary package to selected overseas buyers of handmade carpets/rugs, etc by reimbursement towards airfare as a subsidy amounting to US$ 600, hotel accommodation up to 2 nights (room rent with Breakfast) in Varanasi between 14th to 18th October 2022 (Bhadori is 45 Km from Varanasi) and transportation (pick-up and drop from Varanasi to Bhadori).
