Supporting Community Building and Regional Revitalization

JCCI supports efforts to revitalize regional communities nationwide through partnerships among agriculture, commerce and industry; marshalling of local resources to build and strengthen the local "brand" and promotion of tourism.

We also conduct a number of lobbying activities for the formation of policies and laws. Such work assists in the creation of vibrant communities of which the inhabitants can be proud. It also supports the realization of policies that address problems confronted by local communities in recent days, including Japan's shrinking population.

For the Happiness and Well-Being of the Entire Community

Each CCI seeks to enhance the happiness and well-being of the local economy and society as a whole. This is achieved through active involvement in programs addressing environmental and energy issues (measures to combat global warming, recycling, etc.), community welfare (nursing care, etc.), education (enhancing the community's educational functions and capabilities), promotion of local industries, and other issues.

In addition, CCIs serve as bodies responsible for implementing various programs sponsored by national and local governments to assist small businesses and invigorate regional communities. By doing so, CCIs contribute to the realization of a smaller, more efficient government. They also support recent moves toward regional consolidation of municipalities.
